"XXV: THE ESSENTIAL MIKE OLDFIELD" is what first tuned me in to Mikey Boy's musical prowess, although in retrospect, now that i've got nearly all his albums, there is a lot of "essential" stuff that should have been put on (ie "North Star" from "PLATINUM", and "The Trek" from "THE KILLING FIELDS") and some non-essential stuff that could have been cut out (ie "Only Time Will Tell" and "Portsmouth").
Still, back on topic, my favourite track was probably the final theme from "Ommadawn" because of the way it slowly builds up to this incredible crescendo.
Just another thing, does anyone else think he should have kept with the male vocal for "Tubular Bells III"? I thought it sounded much more eerie and sppooky than the female vocals used in the finished album.
