Or you could just say that having 'not much synth really' was the best sounding weird thing said on the instruments list!  :p

"Lion" is my favorite section, and I believe it has the toy dog, so I voted for the dog.

Glass of water is my favourite out of the options on the poll, but my actual favouite is 'long thin hanging metallic tubes', better known as tubular bells of course. I think they sound as good on Amarok as they have ever done.

Well I would have to say the aeromodellers toolbox because on my first listen when I looked through the list of 'instruments', that was the one I waited for the most thinking 'what the hell does an aeromodellers tool box sound like?' No denying which it is!

I like a lot the Hoover-Scot-Hoover sequence, i.e. the water-drinking-teeth-brushing-yawning-glass-smashing scene :D, so my vote goes to the glass. :)

I've never had a 'toy dog'. What sort of sound does it make? If it's one of those pulltoy things, I imagine it makes a 'clickity-click' sound?

I went for the glass.  Never realised drinking water, brushing your teeth and smashing things could be used to such great musical effect!
Then again I'dve said most of the "instruments" could never be used in any sort of musical capacity.  But for once I was really glad to be proved wrong!
I nearly went for the face slap actually.  Though I've always wondered who the poor sod was that was actually on the receiving end.  Cause it sounds like it really hurts!  :O

Me too. The mind boggles over the possibilities.

@ Sweatpea: a toy dog is, I think, a battery-powered dog that moves around, wags its tail and barks. :D

@ Ebony: I guess it was Mike who slapped his own face.

Is that possible?  I mean, I know you can slap your own face if you really want to, but for the slap in question I didn't think you'd be able get enough swing on your arm to connect with your face at the force required to produce such a loud sound.

But if that was the case - ouch!  :/

@ Onion: the loudness of any recorded sound depends on various factors, e.g. how close is the microphone used to record it, how it's processed during the mixing, how the edit was made [there are lots and lots of edits in Amarok, you know! :D] and so on. And anyway, it's perfectly possible to slap your own face and produce a fairly loud noise. Believe me. :p

Sure, if that was the case - ouch indeed!! :D
