Hi all. I have an Italian Virgin compilation, called In The Air Tonight [even though the Phil Collins hit is not included... smile]. It was launched to celebrate the 21st anniversary of Virgin Records. The last track (17) of its second CD is the usual 4'15'' edit of TB. After that track, the CD contains track 18 as a ghost track. This is a kind-of-folk-burlesque song, by an unknown performer (he sounds a little bit like Bob Geldof when he was in Boomtown Rats). It's just voice and acoustic guitar, and its lyrics are not much more than a listing of Virgin artists and groups. It starts with a spoken intro in which Tubular Bells is mentioned:

"Years ago, twenty-one / Virgin Records was begun.
Branson began with some belief, / Drive a dream, / Great hair, huge teeth.
Richard knew, somehow, what sells: / Sex, Drugs...TUBULAR BELLS!"
eek eek

Please tell me what you think about this... smile

The equivalent to what was said in that song:

"All Hail SIR Richard Branson, Master of the Universe, Lord of Everything, Knower of the Truth, Genius, Solver of all the World's Problems, Cure to Foot and Mouth Disease, Best Balloonist Ever, Everyone's Favourite Bloke, Nobel Peace Prize Winner, OSCAR Winner, Bob's Your Uncle Winner, Cardigan Wearer of the Year Winner 1973-2000, Secret Aide to the Queen and the Prime Minister, all in all, GOD."

Gee this creeping makes me sick.

Ah, that makes sense.

Er, would that mean there was a Sentinal '7 second' version by The Orb, or '7 inches' as I previously believed?

I totally agree with Tim here. Everyone knows that there's no real cure for foot-and-mouth disease

Aren't you all really sick of BELLS, and especially Tubular Bells?!?
As TB3 wasn't already too much, Oldfield soon comes up with the Millennium Bell.
You all know what his latest release is... It's just too much with a "Best of Tubular Bells"! frown

Don't expect me to buy it. I've got most stuff on it, in one form or another (cd or mp3:s).
I hope the VR project is not to be called something with Bells and I don't want to see that thing in the game. Also I don't want to hear more remakes of the "tjubulah bellz thieme", and definitely no Tubular Bells 4½.

And what did we just hear from Mike himself?
He has decided to r-e-c-o-r-d the
o-r-i-g-i-n-a-l T-u-b-u-l-a-r B-e-l-l-s a-g-a-i-n!!! It will be released in 2003.
Do we really need it???

Please no more f**king bells, Mike!
