hey someone else knows Ride!!!!OMG!!!!Memories of early 90's learning to drink and trying to find someone who had a joints worth of hash come flooding back! And now Andy Bell is playing bass with Oasis! They used to live right here in Banbury despite all the stuff about them being a Oxford band.Banbury's Oxford's poorer cousin so it was cheaper to live in a bungalow on the Warwick Road. The very same that my ex-housemate lived in a few years after them.

Funnily enough larstangmark there are a lot of your choices that are on my list.

No, it just wanes slightly! :p  They don't have a bad album, but Momentary Lapse and Obscured by Clouds are disapointing by Pink Floyd standards. Dark Side and Wish You Were Here are a bit overrated and the Wall and Final Cut are more like the Roger Waters show (but I like it!;).

I now realize that I forgot Lizard and Islands by King Crimson. And Solar Plexus by Nucleus. Great, great, great, GREAT albums.

You have to remember, Obscured by Clouds was written and recorded in only a couple of weeks (I think). And don't get me wrong, I love all of those early albums (hell, what's my user name :p). Actually, I really should have put Ummagumma on my list. I really love the live half of that.

A couple I forgot:

Frank Zappa: Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar
Metallica: Master of Puppets
John Coltrane: A Love Supreme

Sammy Hagar? Now that's an unexpected choice!
It's not the one with "I can't drive 55" on it, is it? I used to have that video on VHS back in the 80s and I found both the song and the video hilarious.

Its a recent one post Van Halen
And yes his 80s solo period was pretty cringe

Its a shame when artists get pigeonholed on a hit way back when that was never their best work,

Take Depeche Mode for example( just cant get enough)

Red Voodoo check it out :)

But can Einsten on the Beach really be a favorite album? I don't think it was conceived with the album format in mind.

By the way I forgot to mention Sandy Denny. Northstar, Grassman and the Ravens. That album is like a little twilight world of its own.

Milamber: I've give that Sammy Hagar album a listen!

I've never seen the opera, but the CD recording is amongst my favorites.
