Hollis never was into hard drugs (soft ones, who knows? Well, who hasn't been partial to a bit of the weed at some point... ) . He took the magazine who made the claim he was into heroin to court and won. Article here without the paragraphs that made that claim:

His brother was into hard drugs, however, and it was of his brother's experiences with heroin that he wrote the song "I Believe in You". As for his private matters, they are just that. What I do know is that he is working with EMI at the moment on a collection of past works which will consist of his own personal choices. Amazing after how they tried to stuff him. Still, I suppose they still own them all.
