Excellent Move.
I see it as a one way thing - they get something i don't want to give and they give nothing.
But I am perhaps one end of the spectrum as I refuse to have a TV becuase I don't like the rubbish on it and I dont like some one else telling me what I am going to watch and when. I select DVD's and I select When I watch them. My kids now do the same. If I see something strongly advertised I go out of my way to avoid it and we often discuss this - like lets not buy that as it was just advertised (just for a laugh - so we change brands if we see an advert). If it needs that much advertising then it is probably not as good as other similar items.
I refuse to have any customer loyalty cards as they also track what you buy and where, in fact I do have one but I only use it when i am buying eggs (Tesco). I never Buy Tesco's own brands - I think that should be illegal. So Tesco's think i'm an egg nut but they don't realise how wrong they are.
I hope no one here is an advertising exec - as I imagine we are their worst nightmare family. If we see local companies advertising local produce - like Eggs - we will buy them - but not big brands.
