A lot of the vocals in TSODE (with some notable exceptions such as Supernova, The Chamber/ Hibernaculum and A New Beginning) came from sample CDs. I was working with someone once who had the Zero G Datafile CD-ROM and you could do most of the vocals of Only Time Will Tell with it (I tried it out and it was quite fun actually).
Not that I'm saying it didn't take some skill to combine them all with the original music.
