Quote (Ugo @ Jan. 25 2011, 19:15) | @ Nightspore: what is The Beano? Some comedy series, maybe? Apart from that, the back cover used by Tubularman is the fake (bootleg) cover for the "Early Mixes" of TMB, when they first came out. |
I thought it was strange that Tubularman should produce such a magnificent picture and then make such elementary mistakes with the track listing.
The Beano is an English comic that has been around since the 1930s. My mother was English, which explains how I, as an Australian, know of it. (It's pretty well unknown outside the UK). It typically has one-page stories about misbehaving children, who have names such as "Minnie the Minx". There's one character called "Roger the Dodger", which is what Tubularman's image reminded me of. Presumably "The Beano meets Mike Oldfield" would have a character called "Mike the Tike". I expect Wiga is very familiar with The Beano.
