All this talk of re-releasing (and revamping?) the Virgin albums has got me thinking: what about a TSODE Special Edition repack?
Yeah, I know it's a Warner release, so it won't be amongst the Universal/Mercury overhaul plans, but wouldn't it be great to get an ultimate version of this album?

Here's the sort of stuff I'd love to see included:

The complete CD-ROM track to be playable on both PCs and Macs
The B sides of the singles as bonus tracks
All the available artwork - possibly including a poster and/or postcards
A copy of TSODE novel by Arthur C Clarke

What do you think? Any other suggestions?

Great artwork!  :cool:

Just imagine what could be done with a new 'official' booklet and/or poster etc.  :)

Maybe there will be one released in 2014 to celebrate the 20th Anniversary?

My special edition of TSODE would be:

A 2 LP pressing on 180g virgin vinyl*, the first containing the album and the second containing B-sides and bonus material;
CD-ROM of the video content playable on Windows;
Accompanying booklet containing all the CD artwork;
Illustrated record sleeves;
Fully illustrated gatefold cover';
A copy of Clarke's novel.

*Anti-static vinyl please; has anyone else noticed that WEA LPs generate more static than other labels? :-)

Trekkie, I love the idea of packaging the book with the album; I haven't read it yet...
