There is a new (slightly experimental) section of the tubular.net website now available which presents a graphical timeline of "The musical life of Mike Oldfield". You can find it here or use the link on the front page of the website on the left hand side.

All constructive comments welcome!

Just put a dot in it. :D
@ Matt: very, very nice - good work. But why doesn't the lower bar scroll properly? Is it my computer's fault?

Thanks!

What do you mean by "not scroll properly"? Is this the very bottom bar showing the years with the blue lines for where there is content on the timeline? If so what does it do (or not do! ). It should scroll slowly to match the other bars, or quickly if you grab the lowest bar and move it directly (making the other bars whizz by quickly). What browser you using?

@ Matt: Firefox 4. Please disregard my previous comment - I thought it ran too slow but I see it's supposed to. :D

An electronic microscope used to examine the contents of test tubes, like the one they use in CSI.

One mistake that I can see: the release date of the Arrival single is listed as 10th October 1976 on your timeline.

This is the date of when it was released by ABBA!

Mike Oldfield's cover version didn't come out until 12th September 1980.

 Ooops!

Fixed (well, sortof fixed, database updated but it lists as 11th rather than 12th when I look at the timeline, have to have a check why that is...). Thanks :)

As I told Olivier a couple of weeks ago, there was only one concert in Montreux in 1981(not two) and he played at The Casino (I don't know what La Grande Sale is). Moreover, the date is the 5th and not the 4th

:)

Hello tubularbelleII,

I *think* you are talking about facebook pages here. The only facebook page tubular.net is involved with is http://www.facebook.com/mikeoldfield. I don't know who is involved with any of the other fan pages on facebook. Is this what you refer to or is it something you are having problems with on tubular.net? If it's a tubular.net problem then let us know and we'll try and help. If it is to do with other facebook pages then suggest you try and contact whoever is looking after them?

Welcome to the forums by the way!

Thanks Yannick - one day we'll hopefully have everything fed from the same databases ;)

The date error is the same problem noted above (Arrival) with the way the date is being displayed. Says 5th in the database - honest! I'll keep investigating...

Indeed! In all the excitement of the past few months I'd forgotten about updating the timeline! Will sort in the next few days ;)

Will be particularly nice to be able to add a new entry to the "live performance" section!

Excellent - I was researching into his early music which lead me to this.
40 years since recording of TB began, then...
