Does anyone know the year in which this 'unusual' piece was recorded? Nowhere seems to have the full date - just 26th September!
-> For those who don't know, it was an avant garde instrumental jam by Kevin Ayers and the Whole World, which had about 15 minutes of the avant garde and then a 4 minute song featuring the lyrics of William Blake's Garden Of Love. It seems to have been a particularly wild event:
From the liner notes to the CD: 'At one point the six dancing girls also become involved, taking over the keyboards and bashing them with their fists and arms while the band drink beer on stage'
'All this does not seem to have been what the audience expected, given Bedford's more formally 'classical' previous work. The musical director of the London Sinfonietta, (the quintet Bedford had employed), together with a few other audience members so disliked the rock music element of the piece that they walked out of the hall'
