You could probably buy the whole of Hergest Ridge for the same amount!

Ray   :O

But where would I live,in a tent???, fine in the summer, but sleeping under the stars in winter on top of The Ridge,Brrrrrr ,chilly!!!!! (makes noise of chattering teeth) :/.  I'd find it impossible to live without electricity, as I need it to power my hi-fi,of course I've asked my eletricity company to put me on their "green" tarriff, obtaining energy from renewable resources, and planting trees

Damn!!!! Didn't come upon the Lottery tonight  :/

Wouldn't 500 Mike Oldfield fans sharing a 5 bedroom house be regarded as a severe case of overcrowding by the local council  :O .

While we're at it, couldn't we just build a Manor for ourselves then?  :p

Well lets see, 500 owners at a grand each. That would entitle us to a one week stay every 10 years. Sounds fair to me!! Count me in!!

>>The Beacon, overlooking Hergest Ridge and home to Mike during his Ommadawn era, is for sale.

The Beacon wasn't Mike's home during Ommadawn era, only during Hergest Ridge era. Ommadawn was composed and completed in Througham. You can see the new home in that time photos, inside and also outside.

I'm afraid that's not true Ethain. Ommadawn was recorded and finished in the Beacon. Right after that Mike moved to Througham.

About the photos: I think you mean those featured in the booklet of the Boxed album. It's true that you can see photos of Mike's home in Througham, but they were taken when Mike just moved into Througham. Boxed was released around that time.

The Beacon sold, and it wasn't to me :( .  Looks like I'll have to have this property insteadwww.mccartneys.co.uk/residential/property/3525

Better start saving up ;) .

Hmm, very nice and close to hergest, but with my family a 5 bed house with only one bathroom would be a nightmare!

No, I'll ask whichever Gallagher brother got the Ibiza place (with guitar shaped pool) if he will swap it for my 3 bed semi (with kids paddling pool)

:D

The answer is 42 - but what is the question?

If you are upset at missing out on the opportunity to purchase the Beacon, it is back on the market. Think *I'm* going to start playing the lottery. :/

I'd buy it, if only I could predict those winning lottery numbers, but seem to get 2 right. I have £15.75 cash here at home ATM, I don't suppose that would be enough     :/  :O .

It's quite common for buyers to pull out of the sale before it's finalised. It might have been the case here.

Yesterday I received a note from the owners that they were moving and would be offline for awhile....so....returning to  McCartney's site, the Beacon would appear to have been sold this time.

Anyone know what became of the house eventually? Is it being continued as a B&B?
