Yes I think they do too. It's one of those situations where form and content are almost perfectly chosen - the synthesised sound of the voices conveying something about the plight of the singer. |
The vocaloid fits the song but... When I hear the result, I'm happy to know that we're not soon to have a software able to replace a real singer. And that's a good thing! |

I think that in Five Miles out and Light + Shade, the non-human sounding voices ADD to the music, imagine Orabidoo with Barry Palmer or Maggie Reilly, or Surfing sung by Cara Dillon, really would make me like the song alot less I'm certain
