Here in England i have just received my copy of Static 19 and i must say how great it is.
I have been playing it in my car today travelling to and back from watching the greatest football team in the world, of course Manchester United.

I like all the tracks but for me the highlights are Chris Kimber's Incantations 5 and the last track Ommadawn Pt 1-simply true to the original. I also like the new pieces inspired by Mike's music, Long Road Home and Ali's wedding composed by Calum Benson. can anyone tell me if Calum is actually a professional musician and if he has ever recorded any other music?
Anyway i really reccommend this cd-two hours of superb oldfield inspired music.

I have it! Here in Germany.
Here's my spontaneous (and very incomplete) reviev:
Static 19
Disk 1.
1) The glass-clear sound of Drew Minasian's QE2x4
2) Chris Kimber will take you into another land with Jungle Gardenia
3) The archaic Y2Kaveman by Drew
4) Allan Naslund's Tubular Overdrive - one of my all-time favourites. How did he do that? This perfect climax with screaming guitar...
5) And now for something completely different - Celt Reggae by Gregory Adams
6) This is where the real guitars join in - a true session feeling: Orabidoo by Chris/Pedro/Allan/Rene
7) We have waited for it so long... Incantations 5 by Chris Kimber
8) Gug gives us this really meditative feeling with Mount Teide
9) Have we ever had it so pure and innocent? On Horseback by Gug again!
10) Ommadawn is not only famous in the Western world: The amazing Shivaree ensemble!
Disk 2.
1) The Voyager with a hard edge and real guitars: Chris Lukassen & George Horvath
2) The Velvet sound of Festiva by Allan - sooo smooooth!
3) Piano and Guitar are the best friends: Long Road Home by Calum Benson!
4) What can be more romantic? Ali's Wedding, again by Calum
5) Now we travel into old times: Pirate For A Day by Gregory.
6) Want to feel rainy? Try Allan's Rainy Day!
7) Great Guitar work again: Cris & marc Samara wetting their feet In The Pool
8) Mike, you better listen: Serpent Dream can sound like Dreaming Of Serpents! (Allan again)
9) Tekkno without compromise, but with the The Oldfield Touch: Dark Star by Steven Marseille!!!
10) Want vocals? Here they are! Foreign Affair (Lise Andreassen & Ste van Holm)
11) Ye Olde Base Riffe rules: Let it grow! But slowly... (The Amarokian Bell by Project X)
12) Platinum...what can I say? You know it! (Gug Lacorata)
13) And here is the master: Ommadawn by Hubert Razack. Just perfect.

X-cuse me for being so euphoric. I'm probably a bad writer of reviews. But maybe this is better than nothing. -Carsten-

11 years late, but… no I'm not, and no, nothing else fit for human consumption :)
