Oh...this gets even worse...I was chatting with Korg a bit earlier about this when it occurred to me that maybe I should be checking my other credit card statement. Indeed, it was charged to that one. I *think* I was in the same room when I ordered the thing....... <thinks she'll wake up really, really early and make that phone call....>

I think Pat above here may be right. As far as I remembered, Mike explicitly required TB to be printed on virgin vinyl - no pun intended! :D - i.e. the kind of vinyl normally used for classical records, and not from recycled vinyl. I don't remember HR being originally printed on low quality vinyl and I don't have the Boxed booklet here with me... :)

Yeah Pat`s right Ugo.According to the Boxed booklet anyway a lot of the original pressings of HR were made from re-cycled vinyl due to the oil crises at the time.I believe "audio fry-up" was the term used to describe some of the poor quality albums that were put out.Vivian Stanshall`s old band mate Neil Innes actualy recorded a song around about the same time entitled "Re-cycled Vinyl Blues".Where during the course of the song lots of old records kept kind of interrupting the track.  :D

Well....didn't wake up early but called anyway and problem resolved. They were so nice and helpful on the phone! Guess I'll be getting it after all. <has stern talk with herself about multitasking>

I had a quick look through the Ultimate Edition today at work. And it seems to be a very decent package. The 60-page hardcover book felt sturdy and the plectrums have a tubular bell printed on them. :) I didn't have the time for an extensive look (I'm supposed to work at... work), but my first expressions on the package were very positive. No cheap stuff in there! I'm eagerly awaiting my signed copy!

'Fry-Up' is indeed the term that was used, and very appropriate it was too unfortunately. The distortion during the climax of Part one - the bell striking and the choir - was awful. Also during some of the very quiet passages in Part 2 you could hear a faint crackling - ruining the whole atmosphere of the album.
Strangely enough the 'thunderstorm' section of Part 2 seemed unaffected - it's probably too loud to hear anything else  :)

How did you get a hold of the package before it's release ?  :)

I work at a company that distributes media for a big online shop here in Holland (Bol.com). And on certain weeks I have to keep track of all the releases of that week.

I haven't bothered to check mine but it's probably saying the same thing. Not long to wait now  :)

Trying to dampen my expectations about it being posted today ( considering I haven't yet received a dispatch email) that the new time stated may mean instead that Mike's Autogragh & certification have been added to the box and the box has then been packed ready for posting next week ?  :(

I too have "Pre-order", I'm not adding it as I think it's useless to bother putting it in here. :)

P.S.: the excerpts on the German online store website are FANTASTIC!!

That would be perfect, but Mike is not the type of person who likes to do this that much...IMHO.
