I like the cut and paste job you've done on this, though curiously bits of it near the start when the organ fades in remind me musically of Hello by Lionel Richie. And that feels like a really odd thing to say.

Cut and paste? I *think* that's a compliment?! Actually *all* of the piano is re-recorded, as the original stem stuff was not quite right to use (either mixed in with other stuff, or wrong reverb, or whatever...and also I wanted to avoid using the opening theme...the non-cloth eared will have spotted that the theme *never* appears, it's all variations).

As for Lionel Richie....

(PS the reaaaally good of hearing will spot that the bit about the opening theme not appearing is not strictly true...prize for spotting where it is).

and a guy which i've already talked about here , Jean Marc Boel ..you should listen his remix because its a great one with only guitars ; it's a live performance played by a quartet  !

Revised mix now up here:

...I wasn't happy with the bass...and woke up last night with an idea to extend the ending (which is one of my favourite bits of of TB!;)

This is great stuff...but I don't see how it complies with the rules of the competition (which were that you had to use at least one of the stems)? Maybe there's something buried in there for a few seconds just to get round this!

I didn't have time to submit a remix in time, but here's where I got up to with it (it's quite rough)

I love the start of this one...are those the weird banging scraping noises from about 8' in at the beginning (the 7/4 section)...I haven't gone back to the original but I never ever noticed those before.

Anyway, nice job mixing a few new sounds in...though it loses it for me when the drums come in.

Q: Can I use copyrighted samples in my submission?
A: No! Your submission must be made of the tracks provided and/or material for which you own the copyright or a license to use (such as a sample pack that you purchased and have a license for).

The Jean Marc Boel entry seems to violate this IMO. Even tho it is "live", now that it's recorded it seems to me it is a "sample" or collection of same and goes beyond the musical stems provided time-wise giving them an unfair advantage. My interpretation of the rules is like, the provided stems which are about 14 1/2 minutes are a "gift" that you now own the copyright to(insofar as the contest), and can use anyway you see fit(in the contest-not in some other composition you might claim later). The end part they included in their version is past that point so to me, it is a "sample" they have no license to use. The entry has climbed to number 86 tho.
