I can't wait for the re-recording.  I am very anxious, May seems a long time away now!  Do we know if any online CD stores are going to be selling it?  Where can I buy it online?  I'd like to pre-order it so I get it as soon as the stores do.  Any advice?

No one knows if you can pre-order the album anywhere, or at the least, where it will be sold?

With it not being a finished product, it doesn't yet have a catalogue number, etc, so shops won't have any details of it yet.
It should be available from all the usual outlets, though - amazon, for example, large high street stores (depending on your country) and I should hope smaller ones as well.

when it does come out, the cheapest online cd store to buy it will probably be play.com - likely to be as cheap as £8.99 - p+p included!

You can order it from www.jpc.de and from amazon.de (but not .com or .co.uk) - it costs EUR 19.99 for the limited edition version (with DVD) and EUR 14.99 for the version without the DVD. The release date they give is May 26th.

Its £8.99 for the standard and £10.99 with the DVD at www.play.com and contrary to what Man in the Rain said p&p is free anywhere in europe as i use them all the time to buy DVD's and CD's.
