I'm searching for information about the album:
"MIKE OLDFIELD - THE CONSEQUENCES OF INDECISIONS"
a.k.a.:
"PEKKA - THE MATHEMATICIAN'S AIR DISPLAY"?
My questions:
1) Why was it released with two different titles?
2) How many more versions are there?
3) Why do the tracks have different titles in these versions?
4) Is the audio material really exactly the same in all versions?
5) Why does the album not appear in MO discographies?

For a start, try http://www.carmay.com/recordcollector4_90.htm

Well, maybe I can help you. I have the Finnish CD Keesojen Lehto by Pekka Pohjola (Love Records 1977/Siboney 1994). It is a bit difficult to translate "Keesojen Lehto", because nobody from Finland couldn't tell me if keesu or keesa/keeso means anything, but lehto is grove, coppice ("Grove Of Keesus").
There in PP Project are english translations, which appear on other edition of that album, but they're not precise. I know Finnish language, so I know what does it all really mean, but my English isn't perfect, so some names could sound a little strange, but if there is somebody, who comes from Finland and knows I am wrong, please correct me.

1. Oivallettu Matkalyhty means something like "Understood Lantern" (?)
2. Kädet Suoristavat Veden - Hands Calming The Water
3. Matemaatikon Lentonäytös - Mathematicians Flying Display
4. Pääntaivuttelun Seuraukset - Consequence Of "Head-bending"
Part 1. Sulamaan Jätetty Kipu - Melting Leaved Pain
Part 2. Nykivä Keskustelu Tuntemattoman Kanssa - Jerky Discussion With An Unknown
5. Varjojen Varaslähtö - False Start Of Shadows

Mike appears in all of these tracks on guitars (& in 4.2 on percussions) except 1. In 2. and 5. you can hear Sally's voice too. I also have two another albums of Pekka: Pihkasilmä Kaarnakorva (1972) and Harakka Bialoipokku (1974) and some parts are very good.. Sometimes it souns like old Pink Floyd, sometimes like old Genesis, but mostly like old Pekka Pohjola.. smile I'm looking for a way to get more music and albums by Pekka, but I didn't find more till now.

Hi,

I remember I saw an import called "Consequences of Indecision" by "Mike Oldfield" in a shop in the mid-80's. I don't remember Pekka being mentioned on the cover, but it was long ago smile

Btw, I didn't buy it (too expensive), came back the next day, but the only one was sold already. One of my life's tragedy :-)

And I only heard about it a few years ago, thank you Mister Internet.

For anyone who's missed the news, Keesojen Lehto is being reissued - have a look in the news forums here or visit www.mikeoldfield.org for more information.

The vinyl edition I have is simply titled:

MIKE & SALLY OLDFIELD.PEKKA POHJOLA

It is on the Happy Bird label (90096) and the track listing is:

Side 1
1. The Sighted Light
2. Hands Calming the Water
3. Mathematical Air Display

Side 2
1. The Consequences of Indecisions
part one: Time Heals All Wounds
part two: Comfort with a Stranger
2. False Start

At the bottom of the rear of the sleeve is a note stating 'Copyright 1981 Love Records, Inc.,New York.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

T4

I actually have 'The Consequences of Indecisions'. I found it an a second-hand record shop for $7. Mine has the same track listing as T4 posted. It's strange how it is credited to Mike Oldfield on the cover, as he didn't write any of it. It certainly dosen't sound anything like him.
