Hi, I'm a newbie here. Hope you'll make me welcome!

Someone sent me this link of a song http://zebox.com/nothingseemstofit/

it is basically a "mash-up", where lyrics have been added to Tubular Bells.

I've heard lots of mash-ups lately on the radio (XFM play them a lot) but nothing with Tubular Bells. I wonder if this means that Mike Oldfield, with the anniversary coming up, is due for a massive revival in success?

I suppose it's also a sign that other artists are being inspired by Tubular Bells, but can any of you point me towards similar records (official or otherwise) that sample the piece?

That's quite interesting, though I have to say, I think I'd probably file it next to Leonard Cohen under 'music to slit your wrists to' ;).

One place to start looking for tracks that use pieces of Tubular Bells would be the cover versions page of Rainer Münz's discography - http://www.rzuser.uni-heidelberg.de/~jk0/oldfield/cover.htm which includes a few things that have samples of Tubular Bells (like Janet Jackson's 'The Velvet Rope' ).
