OMMADAWN is one of my favourite albums.
I wondered how an ultimate rerelease of that album would look like.

Which bonus tracks should be on it?
Should we include lyrics, liner notes and some nice photographs?

TRACKLIST

Ommadawn (part one)
Ommadawn (part two)
On Horseback

Portsmouth
Argiers

Why not include In Dulci Jubilo on this one?
Maybe because I love the idea of having one funny
traditional on every 70s album. Hornpipe on TB, In Dulci Jubilo
on HR, Portsmouth on O, Cuckoo Song on I and Blue Peter on P.
Even Polka could be considered as one more on QE2.

I think the seperation between the second part of Ommadawn
and the song that became known as On Horseback justifies a division
between those two sections of the original part two.

The Benelux vinyl version included In Dulci Jubilo, even in the cover album title!

I have the deluxe edition at home now.
And I'm proud of it.

Maybe the picture on the sleeve is a slight bit too dark
when I compare it to my vinyl copies ... but that's really
the only point of critisism that I can think of here.

I just love the tracklist.
In Dulci Jubilo, Portsmouth, Argiers and last but not least First Excursion.

It keeps me wondering if Mike wil include William Tell
and Cuckoo Song on Incantations or just leave them alone?

I listened to the new 2010 mix last nigt and it sounds very up to date.
With much respect to the original feel of the album. I'm convinced.

Nevertheless I will stuck with the 1975 mix, but that's nostalgic me.
I'm very curious about the lost version ... will give it a try this weekend.

Well ... to finish with ... there's one other point of critisism after all.
The liner notes are overlapping a bit too much with the ones
of Hergest Ridge. Yes, I can see the point of picking up the story
by repeating some lines ... but they overdid it a bit.

Instead of On Horseback?

Not instead of On Horseback, but as a bonus track.

Mind you that the In Dulci Jubilo sleeve in the deluxe edition
booklet is the Dutch release of the single ... top 5 in the Benelux.
