I heard on another forum that the boxed notes contain information about how Oldfields parts were composed on his Bedford collabourations. If this is so could someone post what it says, i would be most gratefull.

hi!
first of all, sorry for this late answer but i'm new here and there are a lot of topics to read and i found yours yesterday... so here it goes :)
this is what it's said in the vynil boxed notes about the fourth record, collaborations... by the way, an amazing work IMO, most of all, first excursion, a sweet and strong dialogue between piano and guitar  ;)

"Meanwhile, Oldfield's unparalleded rise as a composer and multi-instrumentalist has tended to eclipse the fact that, over the last few years, he's been an enthusiastic and wide-ranging collaborator as a guitarist and, on one occasion, singer. In the course of these activities, he has often revealied aspects of his playing not always evident on his own records.
This fourth album complements its companions in the package by bringing up to date the career of this decade's single most succesful musician.
Collected together on Side One are his graceful, eloquent solos on three David Bedford compositions, while Side Two assembles a trio of traditional tunes with Leslie Penning -including 1975's Yuletide cheerful chartbuster 'In Dulci Jubilo' -and two further ventures with Bedford, the more recent of which -the remarkable 'First Excursion' -was recorded only five days before this record went to the presses, and suggests future activities of immeasurable potential.
To that we can look forward. This we already have"
