You can watch a new interview with Mike where he talks about various things including Return To Ommadawn:

Thanks for that. Interesting.

Whoever did the captions deserves to be shot, though. Amongst other things, Ommadawn becomes Madonna, Tubular Bells Four becomes two balls for, Trevor Horn gets his name mangled, etc etc. Unbelievable.

"Tubular Bells Four becomes two balls for"

Hmm, not a bad name...perhaps we should start a Facebook petition to get Mike to call the next album that?!

Still a bit of a megalomaniac, still has a sense of humor. Thanks for the link!

Yep, sure is.

I think he should listen to other people's music sometimes.

Hasn't been many collaborations??? Maggie Riley? Morris Pert? Rick Fenn? Tim Cross? Paddy Moloney etc etc ...and while we're on the subject of Ommadawn, maybe Clodagh Simonds should ring a bell???

His comments about Trevor Horn's influence are revealing. Can't stand that album.

[3:26 - 3:40]

"I recorded the click-track.

So there I am with all my instruments. Click-track right?

'What shall I do?'

And, um...

I just sort of flipped a switch and went into, you know, 1975-mode. And out came all these melodies."

I had to listen to this interview again, and I must say this particular statement gives me hope. If he'll only not mess it up with bad production, it'll be the come-back of all come-backs.
