Great news! Especially the "rare tracks" on disc 2! Finally my favorite Pipe Tune on cd!

Incantations has always been my one of my favourites too, but I personally think the new cover is hideous!! I loved the original one, with the whole 70's feeling.

People: have you noticed that you can pre-order the Incantations exclusive signed edition? It only seems to contain the double vinyl, and not a picture framework and it does not include a deluxe cd edition. You have to buy that separately ( $$ ).

I have pre-ordered the vinyl.... let the Universal shipping problems begin! (again!!! )

Are the tracks on Disc 2 outtakes, or just sections of Incantations that are remixed ?
Delighted to see Pipe Tune get an airing - beautiful ...
I hope the original cover is reproduced elsewhere in the packaging, a la the HR reissues - the new cover is gorgeous, but I don't like re-imagining where it's not warranted - still it is stunning though, isn't it?   :)

@ Pat: as I already wrote in the other thread regarding this, most probably Universal were forced to re-do the cover as they don't own the copyright to the original one - Virgin does (I don't think Mike or Oldfield Music do).

@ Ugo Thanks  :)
I'm reading the other thread also  :D

It seems the prevailing wisdom is similar to HR, Mike didn't like the original cover. Universal probably will have the original in the booklet somewhere as happened with HR.

Any definitive news as to what tracks 1-5 are on disc 2 ?

According to the description on the website, the Signed pack includes the LP plus "a numbered print of the original Incantations artwork".

I'm assuming this numbered print will be signed and framed just like the previous two.

Denied! For the moment at least, the wave is but all the versions of one album release.  All my hard work was for naught...

Never fear!  Korgscrew and I will be off to Universal in the morning to find out what's happened to the rest.  We're not afraid of "the Boys" anymore!

At least it's the original cover, not this revamped version without Mike. The impact of the original it's unbeatable - the shocking compairson with Ommadawn on Mike's looks and attitude.

Actually, we can save ourselves the trouble - the others are on their way, but just not right now :)

Last I heard, they were still deciding exactly how to approach the future releases, but they're definitely in the pipeline. We might be able to get some more details next week, if there are any!

My sentiments exactly. It was the first thing that struck me on first seeing the Incantations cover.

My thanks, Korgscrew, for the easing of mind.  for all I've been taking your name in vain these past months, it's an absolute pleasure to welcome you back onto the boards!

You and a small army, as it happens, with the news of the release date.  I was on my mobile, albeit trying to get some sleep, when I noticed it all kicking off on Wednesday.  31 guests, 11 or 12 members and a couple of anonymous members at about 14:30 board time was the most I'd ever seen hanging about.  I think I witnessed an attack of some sort a few weeks ago - at a usually quiet time of day there were over 30 guests, nearly all of whom were spendiing time in Tubular Net Updates, but that too was nothing!  I was hovering over the New Posts generator while travelling to work, so didn't check the full board index until 17:45.  71 guests was the figure that stuck out; members were about 6 and not sure of the anons, but it was enough to generate 4 pages of viewing.  Alas, by the time I looked at page 2 we were down to 3 in total.

Anyway, it's base camp for an assault on 85, should 'more details' be imminent! :)
