In Mikes music what the harmonic trademarks?
What i mean to say is, does he have a preference for certain types of chord (like minors,7ths etc.) does he use any particular chord patterns like 1 3 5 ?(does that make scence?)and lastly are there any particular scales he uses for melodies? (i find most in the melodic minor scale)

Well, for a start there's the Em, D, Bm7, Em sequence which appears very often - hmm, I really ought to try and make a full list of the pieces which use that sequence.

Yes. That may be a MO trademark.
jsamsworth, as you ask about scales:
The above is in pure minor, not melodic.
Since in melodic minor, there would be no D but D# (normally not used in base), and also B would appear as B7 not Bm7.
