Me and Booster teamed up to give you the mix of the century. With BOOsters cool sounds and my dreadful guitar playing, theres no ending to the fun :)

Enjoy People...

@Brandon - We didn't have your permission to use this, so if there is a problem we will remove it from the board.

;)

EDIT: Check out our new updated version

I would like at first to say thanks to Mike :)

and then @Brandon: we used only part 2 of your version...since I was too lazy to sequence that too :)
I hope it's OK :) if it's not just tell me ;)

I have to say first, you're really better off asking first before posting versions of tracks by other people from the community here - I don't think anyone on the board (or indeed on Amarok, the newsgroup or similar places) is unapproachable. I'd assume that things are ok in this situation, you know each other fairly well (I'm thinking back to what Brandon started off with BOOsTER's Dark Star here :D), but it's often best to watch out.

To the track...
It's a nice choice of sounds, and it has a nice relaxed feel. It sounds a bit 'lo-fi' though - I think it's the kind of piece which could really do with an absolutely crystal clear sound quality to it. The guitar playing fits quite well...is it meant to be distorted (sounds like it's clipping a bit otherwise)? I think the Caldera Piano bit at the end rather suffers from having been through the data-reduction mangle rather too many times, but it's a nice idea.

Some interesting collaborations are happening here...long may it continue!

Korgscrew: at first thanks for the comments :)
I also shamed first for taking Brandon's piece and if I would catch him before I wanted to post I would. But I remembered the Ommadawn 2k3 excerpt with guitar remember? :D

heheh j/k a bit here :)

I tried to do everything in crystal clear quality...I think I am not able to produce it any better :/

it's not clipping but I tried to simulate the bridge pickup from original 60's strat...well hmm...maybe it did not come out as it should :)

btw you mention Caldera piano bit...hmm I thought it's second part of moonlight stroll since it was on TLII that way

I don't mind anyone messing with my tunes unless I say when I first post it that I don't want anyone messing with it. And besides, it's MO's song anyway. Not mine :). I just put it all together, remember. The only thing that's mine in TL2 is the arranging. Everything else...music...instruments...mixing etc...all Mike.

That said, this is quite nice. Good job, you guys! It also sounds a little lo-fi to me. Probably the mp3 encoding, though. (use OGG hint hint hint ;) )

Hey nice job. High frequency piano with the strange low frequency synth effect sounds good. Only thing was the piano was a little too quiet with everything else going on when it first starts. Really good, though, otherwise. And nice playing, Crises! Very nice.

fine then, make me feel guilty about it!

Actually, I haven't commented because I don't know the original (even though I own over ten MO albums, that's barely scratching the surface, it seems sometimes!;). But your remix sounds nice. You're lucky that Brandon is of a benevolent character! :-)

Ktran, the song that Booster and Crises have covered is available free on the internet. It's from Tr3s Lunas the game. I made an online album called Tr3s Lunas II for free for those who couldn't listen to the music in the game or don't want to play the game all the time to listen to the music. You can find it at ftp://amarok.huntingdon.edu/ .

Pardon my ignorance, I was curious as to what a remix is?
Do you folks pinch the actual MO recordings and then apply your own mixes to them? Do you actually play anything yourselves? We have a slow connection so we havent gotten to hear alot of stuff here. We are sure that it is all quite good.

Ecco: we actually play all the instruments ourselves :) there's now no playing by Mike...or anyone else except me and Crises.
Glad you like it ;)

Charming! Nothing irritates me, except for the lack of an ending. I like endings! Don't leave endings away! Endings rule! It's the final impression which a song lays on you! Take care of the ending, if not, you don't have a complete song!

Endings, endings!

as u may remember, I'm always a bit behind with listenin' to downloaded stuff, about 5-6 months, actualy.
:)
anyway, I just heard this tune and nearly felt .... into love with it. but this would break my "rule", not to "love" or "hate" any kind of tune/music....
:D
so, I'll say it that way: this is the nicest tune I've heard this year and one of the best M.O.-covers I've heard for ages.
congrats, guys (all who were involved) & keep on with stuff like that....

Vote for love,

dkay

3) ahhh...ehh :)) don't use superlatives I gotta blush now...as I think I will never be able to beat myself anymore...loosing it...badly loosing it...

greets to u deekay...and thanks a lot for the comment...
