Check out "Discovery" (vinyl), the inner sleeve photos (Studio Switzerland etc.). There's a black leather chair. And then look at the picture published by Caroline Monk on Feb 7, 2000. Isn't that the same chair??? Has Mike been using it for 16 years, and maybe longer? Any results??? -Carsten-

And what about when Mike had more than one studio in use at once? Did he take it with him...was he strapped into planes still sitting in it, perhaps? wink

I'll guess Mike goes to a leather chair company somewhere...maybe they're made specially for him. Maybe fans could get their hands on them ("The Oldfield model...with tubular frame...if you feel a little glum, use an Oldfield chair to rest your bum")...I really don't know...

Hi
All right for Discovery Vinyl, but, how can I see this Caroline Monk Pictures ? I don't remember it and even if, I didn't notice the chair !

PS : Help ! If this chair is an 'Oldfield Model' I want one !!!! I'm just 'moving from one home to another' (err, stupid, I don't know how to say it correctly !) and this chair will be perfect in my new living room !!!

Maybe my idea looked like a joke to you.
But remember: when Mike made 'Discovery', he moved lots of instruments and studio equipment to that cottage in Switzerland and back. So why not also his chair?
...
And to those who think it's unimportant: Wouldn't it be interesting to know that Mike
(a multi-millionaire who lived in many places all over the world) likes/needs a certain environment to compose his wonderful music? (including an old age-worn chair)
...
I put both photos on my homepage: http://home.t-online.de/home/b_c.kuss

You can find another picture of mabe-the-same-chair at www.carmay.com/keyhole7.JPG

The link is still present on TW HomePage (not in Surf More section, dead-link, but in News section...)

Ok, a more serious answer...

I had noticed before that he always seemed to be pictured sitting in that same leather chair. I just think that maybe, being leather, it would be worn out by now (it doesn't look it...and he must sit in it a lot) and that there is probably a company making them somewhere. With good leather and a bit of care, though, it might have lasted...he might have had it re-covered with new leather as well...My guess is that he has more than one, though.

Yes, there's also two of them on Discovery (vinyl inner sleeve). So, we have two in 1984, and two in 2000. BUT WHERE ELSE??
