Just passing this on. I'm sure long time members are familiar with it, but it may be news to somebody.

I just found Live365.com. It is an internet radio station service. There are 2 24 hour a day Mike Oldfield station. Pretty good selection, too!

Check it out.

<< hesitates until able to imagine 24/7 Oldfield radio >>

"You're listening to Oldfield 24-7, that was Moonlight Shadow, and this next one's called Moonlight Shadow"

<< wakes from this bad dream >>

Two months later...

Following on from ChiRho's post:

"This is Oldfield 24/7, where we'll only repeat one whole track today. When you hear that song, email us ASAP and you'll win A PRIZE!!!! And today's winning track, the only one you'll hear today twice, is a rather cute little piece. We'll repeat it between 4AM in the morning and 6PM, GMT, and the track you need to listen for, quite easy to recognise, only track to be repeated in a 14hour period, today the winning track is...

AMAROK"

I can just see that happening rolleyes

-Tim-

Seriously, for a second, as well as Mike Oldfield stations, there are also quite a few fan stations around (or at least there were last time I checked, which admittedly was a while ago). Have a look for them if you want.

It's worth dropping in to the Mike Oldfield IRC chatroom if you want to find more about who's broadcasting when - it's normally announced in the topic there if someone's broadcasting at the time (you can even catch me on the air on friday/saturday, if you really want...).

The room (or to use the proper name, channel) is #mike_oldfield and is on DALnet - you'll find more detail about finding it elsewhere (there's even a homepage for it - have a look in the links section here if you want). You'll need either IRC client software like mIRC, ircle or similar, or you can use a java based client on www.dal.net .
