Fantastic surprise , such a shame Trevor Nelson for BBC talked over most of TB3. Had my amp cranked up , sound was so good.

Album from the opening concert is released in the UK in a couple of weeks , dont know how much of Mikes performance will be on it .

I haven't posted on here for years but I HAD to drop in just to say how proud I am to be a Mike fan. It was so great to see him play at the ceremony last night, and I really enjoyed the arrangements of TB (including the swing version, loved that!;) and In Dulci Jubilo. And also, what a fantastic audience for Mike, he deserves more recognition!  :)

Just watched back the performance last night and have to say after following Mike all my life this was his proudest moment. Loved the new version of TB and especially the very end section, just beautiful. Well done Mike.

Even at BBC iPlayer you can't download to watch it...just stream it!

Is there any chance you could put that to be downloaded somewhere else? Please?

I have recordings of Finnish TV, UK Eurosport and BBC and in all of them the commentators ruin much of TB... IDJ was better spared. And being out of UK, can't watch BBCi either.

This is absolutely maddening: all tv broadcast are ruined by babbling commentators and internet releases, not suffering from that, are blocked outside UK :/ (pulling hair off his head)

I will of course buy the CD later, but I would love to have a undisrupted video of this as well... Best option would of course be that BBC or some other distributor released the ceremony as DVD/Blu-ray - not likely to happen, though, I'm afraid.

Use www.expatshield.com if you live outside the UK and you'll be able to watch MO in all his glory  :D

Well, that was pretty pathetic as well... :) They do mention Mike Oldfield in one sentence, but fail to review his part of the evening completely. I guess that one passing mention makes it one step better than the one by BBC's "Arts journalist", though...

The review linked by Blackabyss is very positive, almost as if the writer was a fan to begin with.

And back.  Will watch my recording soon - there was drama - but meanwhile, Caroline Monk has had a secret and a text.
