I think it is one of Mike's geratest albums, and my personal favourite. It explores so many atmospheres and environments, in a similar way that Tubular Bells did, but this time with more mysticism and fantasy.

It's a work of great musicianship and imagination, and is certainly NOT tacky new age, background music for the spa or massage parlour!!

Open your ears and open your mind to this album. Give it a chance. It isn't comparable to any of his previous albums.

I2085 is one of the morons above and I have already explained why I don't like TSODE! I think it sounds like weird backgroundmusic for a spa! And why all those voices!? The reason why i don't like TSODE is same why I don't like ommadawn, hergest ridge, incantations and amarok: it's not music!!

Now look....it's music. It really is. It's not like, industrial soundscapes or music conrete or something...Plus the albums you mention are very, very different from TSODE.

And if only TSODE did sound like weird background music for a spa, then I would proably like it. But now it's more like ordinary background music for a spa.

Has anyone ever tried the innovation of using it as spa music for a weird background?

Yeah, I've just tried it. And it sounded ordinary.

Hergest Ridge, Ommadawn and Incantations are music to my ears :D     , Amarok, well that one does leave me a bit puzzled, I'm undecided what to make of it :/.
Well I guess each to his or her own.

"He was at Berkeley".

"I was not".

"He was part of the free speech movement in the 60's.... I think he did a little too much L.D.S...."

I suspected as much. Maybe we need to try it as an ordinary background in a weird spa?

Payer for the Earth - sound red indian - any body translate????  May be a hddien message in there.

Do you mean the indigenous peoples of the the Americas? The Native Americans? [edited to say... in the US, we tend to use Indian, American Indian people, Native American, indigenous people or Native people--("Indian" can be confusing because sometimes it's hard to know if one is speaking of native people or South Asian folks), but "red indian" isn't used. There are many reasons that most native educators, activists, those of us working through diversity issues, and other concerned citizens use any of the other terms. I could go on about this, but I came across a  forum discussion with an entry that pretty much summarizes the discussion in a diversity study circle I've recently participated in: http://www.barbelith.com/topic/14753/from/70 . And then...for some good information about what we are dealing with in the US, look at the Mascot Issue at Lisa Mitten's (a Mohawk librarian) links at : http://www.nativeculturelinks.com/indians.html ]

Having said all of that...."Prayer for the Earth" is sung in the Saami language across the pond to the north--way north. If you search under "saami" you will find more info regarding the lyrics and language.
