Jon Lord wrote the music of this. According to what I've read and seen, he intended it to be operatic, almost like "April". Ritchie Blackmore wrote some lyrics which toned it down a bit. I respect your honesty, and without meaning to be patronizing, I sympathise with your problems. I've never heard Before I Forget, but I just checked it out on Wikipedia and saw that Elmer Gantry, Tony Ashton and Sam Brown are all in there. I like all of them, so it sounds promising. I'm also very fond of Pictured Within, as you can see from the videos I posted above. It seems like that album is not very appreciated by longtime Deep Purple fans... olracUK Group: Members Posts: 1683 Joined: June 2003 Posted: July 22 2012, 18:53 The only time I got to see Jon Lord was the "Perfect Strangers" Knebworth gig (which had it's own small world story for me, but another time for that). But he seems to have been a genuine man, a minor classic composer(as in not Mozart but better than many) and gave us some great tunes. -------------- The answer is 42 - but what is the question? I've looked for the CD on online shops - couldn't find either version. Amazon.co.uk has it, but used and at a very high price - I'm not spending £100+ for a 1982 CD, Jon Lord or not. Anyway, I was lucky enough to download from somewhere a FLAC version, including the bonus tracks, but I'll have to cut it myself as the cue sheet is all wrong (as usual)... @ Andy: what are your favourite Jon Lord pieces/songs? -------------- Ugo C. - a devoted Amarokian Back to top
