After reading all of the various comments on this site, I finally broke down and bought TBIII and am listening to it as I type this.  I must admit I skipped right to Finale as I've heard so much about John Cleese.  I hated it.  I do love Monty Python but didn't like the images in my head when I heard him speak the words.  Especially "Grrrrrrrrrrrrand Piano".  Talk about overdoing it.  Really cheesy.

I'm afraid that isn't Tubular Bells III you are talking about. The album is called Tubular Bells 2003. Tubular Bells III is a completely different piece of music

Aren't you confusing TBIII with TB2003, I know there's so many of them it's easy. I didn't like John Cleese either, it's such a strong and in my mind serious piece of music that putting a comedian in there just spoils it I think. I assume he's had proper vocal training or whatever but you can't think of John Cleese and not think of his silly antics and voices. I also wasn't that keen on the 'cavewoman' either.

Tracy.

Incidentally, I thought John Cleese was the only actually enjoyable part of TB2003 - but mostly because I found it such a huge disappointment, and Cleese's performance was unexpected and, well, British. I never considered TB as a "serious" piece of music, though. One of the things I like best about Mike's music is the irony and ambivalence, and I still prefer Stanshall's subtle performance to Cleese's bombastic approach. But like I said, it's the best part of TB2003 to me.

I guess I'm too much of a trekkie. The TB 2003 version of cavemen seemed very much like Klingon opera.

Yes, of course.  Stupid me.  I am so wrong.  It is definitely 2003 and I've put this in the wrong section.  At any rate, my sentiment is the same.  I have yet to listen to the whole album.

(Sounds like Alan Rickman?)

Grand Piano...pay attention when I'm talking, Potter!

Reed Pipe Organ is essential for this potion. It is very rare, as the Reed Pipe expires when its organs are removed. Pity.

Bass Guitar scales are found on the second shelf. Use them sparingly.

Vocal Chords? That'll be 20 more points from Gryffindor

Two Slightly Sampled Electric Guitars is the correct answer, Malfoy.

The Venetian Effect is what happens when you don't pay attention, Longbottom. Another 5 points from Gryffindor!

Digital Sound Processor in my office needs to throroughly calibrated during detention, Potter.

"Theremin... no, Mr. Weasley, don't touch it. That is NOT a wand."

Sorry, Hiawatha - couldn't resist. I'm a little obsessed with Theremins these days. :) Apart from that, and apart from vocal chords being really cords ;), you are a definite genius. :)

Aren't these two words synonyms for that organ?
