Today, the hot weather of Nashville, Tennessee, was no bother as my copy of Incantations Deluxe rolled into town via the post man. Here is my take...
first... I didn't know that Wrekorder Wrondo was such a great piece! Honestly, I never gave it a chance. Same with Pipe Tune, and the Coockoo Song.
Now, down to business... The Remastered Version seems bolder and better managed in separation of sound. I did play it side by side with my original copy. This seems cleaner. However, there is still the high-pitched squeal, as track one starts. It's not near as noticeable on the new version. As for the glitch, I must confess, I have not looked for it. My favorite tracks are One and Three. Two is good, but Four is ok.
As for the remixes... LOVE THEM!!!!!!! Guilty is clean and full of new life! It always reminded me of 70's porn music. This new version, not so much lol. Diana, both versions, are amazing!!!!!!! Especially, with the new drum tracks and effects laid over!!!!!! )) I even like the Stephen Hawking voice in the second version. Mind you, he does get a little carried away with the repeating of one phrase, towards the end. The Piano Improv explains many later pieces. Including, but not limited to, First Steps and Top of the Morning. Canon for Two Vibraphones is beautiful!!! However, not something that should be listened to when you have a headache lol.
All in All, a GREAT release!!! Now, onto Platinum... I personally can't wait for FMO and Crises!!!!!!!!
Best wishes to everyone
