I found an LP of "Exposed" (didn't buy - too expensive!;), and I took my time to look at the pictures on the sleeve. Hee, I love that look of Mike - "Hey, I'm just a little kid who just recorded a double album. Fun, innit?"

Anyone met Him...?

Good grief, my previous post I sound like a lovestruck teenager, not a respectable???  :O , woman of 33.  Well semi respectable ;). Well it was 2.30am UK time when I posted it!!

If I may elaborate as to why I'm in love with Mike,

*  IMHO I think he is very good looking bloke especially around TB-Ommadawn period, also in the 90's the Voyager photos, at least he had the courage to appear semi naked...

:) MORE IMPORTANTLY Mike has written some great pieces of music.  His music can move me so much, very few artists/bands come that close, with the possible exception of Led Zeppelin and Queen. Listening to Mike's music I often feel I'm riding an emotional rollercoaster
:) .  If I need to focus upon something I often play TBIII, Ommadawn, TSODE or TB.
Mike has  sucessfully been able to update himself, whereas many lesser artists have struggled to survive in the world of music.  By the time Mike was 17, he was a great guitarist.  My earliest recording I own featuring Mike is "Thinking Of You" on the Edgar Broughton Band's self titled album.  Wow!!!  that mandolin blew me away, what a pro!!  TB was released 10 days after Mike's 20th birthday, and has become the biggest selling instrumental album of all time, some feat!!!

Mike's early life was certianelly difficult, his mother dying young,   I understand she was in and out of mental hospitals, plus had an alcohol problem, stressful enough for an adult, never mind kids. Personally speaking thankfully I have been for talking therapy on the NHS, my experience of this was quite positive.

:)

I agree I like The Voyager pics :) , and the Ommadawn era pics :D .  So Mike does running , squash, tennis and swimming.  I don't mind swimming, but I need a companion to exercise with, If you ever want company Mike, I'd be happy to oblige   :). I've shifted 91/2 pounds in weight since joining Slimming World, five weeks ago.  Oh yes I dance to Mike's music, that makes exercise more pleasureable, than a chore  :) . I've been informed it's possible to buy Spacehoppers for adults, a fun form of exercise. I was too busy bouncing around on my Spacehopper to appreciate Mike's music.   I was never really a sporty person at school, and I guess I'm still not.

Tati,
You don't have a sense of humour, do you?

NO! lol

No I'm joking Tati, you're fine, but sometimes you are a little serious  :O

As for Mike's looks, whatever, I am a heterosexual male!

Anyway, I can see why certain pics would get women thinking oooh sexy or whatever.........

In my math, 91 divided by 2 comes out to  45.5 pounds....all in a few weeks!

Heheeeee!!!  Should read as 9 and a half pounds :) , not sure how to write fractions on here.

Now lost 1 stone 8and a half pounds, or  22lbs if you prefer, (14lbs, is 1 stone).

After fluctuating a bit , had the release of Light and Shade  as an incentive to reach my 1 1/2 stone, I promised myself and my Slimming World members and Tubular. net friends I wouldn't allow myself to hear L&S until I did it.    , Last week, needed to loose 3 1/2  lbs to do  it lost 4 1/2 lbs.     :D YIPPEEE!!!!

Mike's looks? haha, well, looking quite good (really good, if you like) between '78 and '83 I think :) with the short hair anyway. Not as goodlooking as Nicky Wire from the Manic Street Preachers though!

Not that I pay a lot of attention to it, but based on CD/album covers, L & S is the first time he has really changed his look since "Incantations".
