Amazon.co.uk has begun taking pre-orders on Deluxe Editions of Hergest Ridge and Ommadawn.

According to their track lists, Hergest Ridge includes In Dulci Jubilo (For Maureen), Spanish Tune and demos of Part One and Part Two. Ommadawn includes a 'lost version'.

They also have a single disc edition of Ommadawn, which includes In Dulci Jubilo, First Excursion, Argiers and Portsmouth, plus there's a single disc edition of Hergest Ridge which currently has no track listing.

The release date given for all three is May 24th 2010.

Update March 28th: What Records is now taking orders for 180 gram vinyl editions of Hergest Ridge and Ommadawn. Hergest Ridge is listed as being the original 1974 stereo mix.

Update April 17th: Amazon is now showing a release date of June 7th.

Amazon has added a Track Listing for the "1 cd" edition of Ommadawn:

1. Ommadawn Part One
2. Ommadawn Part Two / On Horseback
3. In Dulce Jubilo
4. First Excursion
5. Argiers
6. Portsmouth

Umm, I hope "Don Alfonso" will make its way to a new digital edition...

There are four versions of Hergest Ridge (part1/2) and Ommadawn1.

...and a song for his mum, she must have liked that tune.

...and a *lost* version of Ommadawn...

I'm pleased :).

Now, this sounds excellent :D
How reliable is Amazon generally with preorder info?

And yes, would also sound to me like it was the fabled tape-wore-out original Ommadawn recording. But maybe thats just wishfull thinking :music:

Lost and found obviously.
The one thing I'm most curious about is the HR demo versions. I didn't think they did demos because the finished version sounds a bit demo-ish.
And now we'll all know exactly what Spanish Tune is. Certain people here claim to have heard it and said it's just an excerpt from the album, so this will be very intersting  :O

Apparently Mike did a demo of Hergest Ridge and sent it anonymously to Virgin - but they guessed who it was immediately. This will be very interesting indeed as it will be stuff he home taped soon after arriving at The Beacon.

Spanish Tune, as far as I'm concerned, IS an extract from the album released in promotional single form (VS112).

The "lost" Ommadawn will be what remained of the early version before Mike had to rerecord it. There have been partial outings for this version on the films Reflection and All You Need Is Love and they did sound quite different to the final released product. Again a must have in my opinion.

Would that mean Original HR, Boxed HR, Orchestral HR and HR demo (which is something I've never heard about before, but as they're specifically announcing it, it seems to exist)? In that case, it would truely be an "ultimate" edition.

As I can understand after reading the FAQ about Spanish Tune, this song was not sure to exist...and now the veil is lifted and we will have it for the first time ever?

Is that right?

That would strongly suggest that what we were promised about the original mix being on the CD was true...

With any luck, we might be able to get full confirmation from Universal in the next week or so (though no promises...). We were told something off the record about the artwork, but haven't heard anything about the audio content lately.

Thanks to everyone who's been spotting these things!

No wonder I didn't find the single cd version of HR when its not currently listed as a 'Mike Oldfield' product ! :(

I wonder what the extra tracks are ...if any ?    :)

Amazon site indicates that the Ommadawn deluxe edition will have 3 CD's...
This would explain why its price is the same than the price of the Deluxe H.R:

Product details
Audio CD (24 May 2010)
Number of Discs: 3
Format: Box set

No info about this third CD...
