I just purchased a new Sony DVD player and was told it plays DVD-A discs.  It DOES have Dolby Digital, DTS, SACD, MP3, optical and coax out (I use coax) but I don't see mention of DVD-A anywhere.  The bass response is better than my older player, but I can't seem to access any special audio track on TB2003.  Either the player doesn't play DVD-A or I am totally missing something here.  The fact that it has SACD, I will definately purchase a copy of the original TB in SACD format.

Back to the fact that I can't locate a DVD-A track.. I read where there is a definate difference especially in the finale when John Cleese announces the instruments from the RIGHT channel, not the left like in the standard recording.  I am listening to both the Dolby Digital and DTS tracks in my 5.1 system utilizing both the coax out and the 6 channel out, and they sound outstanding, but I want to hear the DVD-A track.

:/

I'm afraid you're out of luck - you didn't specify the model of your player, but since Sony is the main supporter of SACD, it will probably never support it's rival DVD-Audio with their players. On the other side, no Philips players, Philips being one of the initiators of DVD-Audio, support SACD.
Only a few third-party builders like Pioneer or Onkyo support both formats on some of their top-end players.
Thus, the DTS tracks are the best you can get from TB2003 on your player.
OTOH, with Mike's moving to Mercury Records, you're not _that_ bad off, since Mercury's re-releases of other groups' back-catalogue seem to come frequently also on SACD (but not on DVD-Audio)...
