Well, I think that piece of information probably came from here! We were told back around June last year that the original mix was a definite thing, but a lot of time has passed since then (and apparently Virgin promised the same thing when they did the 2000 remasters).
I really have very little idea what's going on over there at Universal at the moment - we occasionally get the odd 'news coming soon' message, but so far the news hasn't come!
As for what's happening with mikeoldfield.com, again, who knows...it was nearly two months ago that they indicated it was coming back soon (which I kind of took to mean within a few weeks), but it so far hasn't. The reason for it disappearing in the first place was that the domain expired. It's been renewed by someone, but we're not 100% convinced that it's Universal. They keep indicating it's all under control, but every time I look at that smirking woman who's currently gracing mikeoldfield.com, I can't help wondering if it really is...
At a guess, I'd say that the old site reappearing with the u-myx domain is probably not particularly deliberate. I imagine that when they decided to redirect mikeoldfield.com to tubularbells2009.com, they were left with a spare hosting account (with all the old content still on it) and the old u-myx domain floating around which for one reason or another just got pointed at the old hosting account (or maybe was pointed at it all along...it's been so long since it was a URL the majority of us were interested in looking at that I suppose not many of us checked). That domain's due to expire in September this year (no idea about the hosting account though) and I'd not be surprised if they don't renew it...but who knows, maybe they have some kind of grand plan they're not letting on about!
