Hello, everyone!
I'm just new here, and have been a fan of Mike's music since I was eleven years old (1982), when I heard my friend's older brother's copy of Tubular Bells on vinyl.
I convinced my Dad to let me play his old acoustic guitar - which had been sitting in the cupboard, along with "Collier's Guide to Playing the Guitar", since before I'd been born - and I'm still playing today.
I have all of Mike's stuff (either on vinyl, CD or DVD...and even a few things on VCR), and think he's possibly the most underrated guitarist of his generation.
I listen to a lot of different things, but hearing Tubular Bells as a kid really had a big effect on me.
My favourite version is Tubular Bells 2003; the sound quality of each and every instrument is wonderful, and this really enables you to hear more musical details, I think.
Anyhow, I'm glad to have stumbled across this place!
