Sorry if I shouldn't have started a new post, but I just wanted to introduce myself :)
I'm a fairly new Mike Oldfield fan; I got hooked on tubular bells after finding a copy about 3 years ago. A friend lent me Ommadawn and Hergest Ridge which drew me further in, and I then started buying my own (you can see my slowly growing collection at the link in my sig).
Anyway, I've been lurking a bit recently so I thought I'd join up :) Thanks!

Nathan

 Where are you from?

You rang, Milamber? Yes, welcome aboard, tsar nathan. None of us is even remotely normal here! And buy Amarok next, followed by Tubular Bells II, and Islands and Tr3s Lunas and...

There are just two things to remember: don't mention a certain Australian children's band to Caveman, and Ugo has a very fetching pet moggy called Vicki.  :D

cheers for the tips :D I'm from the north west of england but I spend just over half of the year living in the west midlands for university.
Talking of which, I'll be heading back down there tomorrow. Oh, the joys of trying to cram everything I'll need for the next 10 weeks into the back of a VW golf. (guitars take priority!;)

Lucky bugger! I'd love a proper SG, never mind mike's! I blew my guitar budget on an ibanez a few years ago so no more guitars for a while now :(

Hehehehehehehehehehehehehe...   Yes, as my never-changed-sig-from-the-very-first-day-I-subscribed-here says,  Amarok was a life-changing record for me, and I'd certanly advice an Oldfieldian novice like you to get it. [By the way, welcome to the nuthouse... hope you'll have some fun here! :)] Be careful, tho', because, as Milamber above puts it, you either love it passionately after the very first listen, or you'll hate it for the rest of your life. There's no way it can "grow on you", at least IMHO. By the way, @ Caveman: is that a quote? As you may have realized, I'm very fond of quotes, so, if it is, please "quote" your reference. :)
