BOOsTER! :O I wasn't trying to influence you. I was talking about the MIDI! :/

Don't get me wrong, you have the freedom. I also loved your work on the Finale. You seem very competent. I trust you!

You're a synth wizard! :D

I was unable to look at the MIDI yesterday, sorry. I was kinda busy. Had to cut my hair (good. Now I look more like a rock musician and less like Philip Glass), had to do some stuff for my dad, etc. But I'll try my best to do this 'till the end of the week. Trust me!

I've been practising away at the fast riff bit for the past week, and I think I should be able to play the more complicated line (which is more alike to the guitars). Lemme know if yous would rather I just stuck to the line in the midi (which is "oh so exciting!" :p)

inspiration's back.....new things are comming
this is one of them ;)

http://www.rebirth.nd4spdworld.com/Crises/Synth1.mp3
it's exactly in time with the midi...so includes silent parts when the synth is not playing.
Also this time I hope for an exception because I added a bit of reverb to make it sound "monstrous" sorry about it ;) I am really sorry about the one who will have to mix it :D

I hope you will like it.....yo and enjoy those weird Stereo FX ;)
again no samples just pure synthesis

cya around.....

yo.....and if you have your parts ready and don't have place where to send them...I have setup an uploader again...

Have I got the wrong midi file? Cos that's not matching up with the midi I have. The mp3 you upped is 5:41 long, but the MIDI is just under 4:00.  :/

It's always hard to comment on just a single part of something. It's very in the style/spirit of the original, yet different as well, from wht i could tell. I'm more of a guitars man - don't ask me things like that!!! :)

Good work though!

Bravo!

Just lined it up with the few takes I've had at the bass part and they sound great!! :)

And I told myself that nothing would make me turn off Dark Side Of The Moon tonight. I guess I was wrong!!!

I'm so sorry I was unable to work on the project yet, but I was away this weekend. I'll definitely take a look on it tomorrow, see if the guitars sound accurate enough and work on the drums. After a few more listens, the guitars don't sound too off as I initially thought. Well, that's better! :)

The first guitar part is perfect (on the original midi) yet it clashes with the other part. Thats why sounds messed up :P

Being a brit with a thin whiney voice but no technical expertise at all - how would i upload my rendition of "crises, crises can't get away" (sung whilst wearing my original '83 t-shirt) ? Shame you can't go as far as the watcher and the tower. I've been waiting hour by hour, but you guys have been working a lot bloody harder.

Try BOOsTER's server. The URL is a few posts above.

We still don't know (I think) where the project will stop. The current intention is to stop before the sung portion ( :/ ), but maybe it will grow? Who knows.

I have worked on the MIDI yesterday! I listened to the song very closely, and yeah, the guitar riffs were a tiny bit off. It may seem like an insignificant detail, but in the final product, it can make quite a change. Also, the bass guitar during the high pitched lead melody was very weird. It sounded stuck in C, while the chords changed from Dm to C to Am. The performances are pretty much "flat", so I'd recommend the players to improvise a bit, especially the bass. Listen to the original - the bass player improvises quite a lot, and it has a great effect in the final product. Another "fix" is that I added the piano part. It's very subtle, but noticeable. There is also yet another synth part - very brief, in the first few bars, some synth string-like chords.

As soon as I can, I'll make my version available. Maybe tonight. I won't dictate that my version is the definitive. I think it's up to the players to decide what is more accurate. And, again, I tell you to listen closely to the original. It can clear out many doubts.

Well I've been playing the more improvised bassline so far, just need to decide exactly what I'm going for and get a definitive recording.

I've been playing right up to the end of the song, (I'm sure everyone knows I'm very much in favour of playing right through), although there is one chord/bass note that might clash, since I can't figure exactly what's being played.

But we'll cross that bridge when we decide to come to it! :)

Plenty of time if it needs changed at all.

Who's mixing this anyway?
