Hi all,

I've recently joined this website; I've been lurking for a few weeks and thought I'd introduce myself here. :-)

The first Mike Oldfield album I bought was 'Crises' around 1986 as a callow youth. I loved 'Moonlight Shadow' and wanted to explore his work further. I'd never heard anything like the title track before. 'Discovery' and 'Five Miles Out' followed and I gradually acquired more Oldfield cassettes and LPs (later CDs too). I now have probably 3/4 of his albums.

Nowadays I enjoy a broad range of music, from New Age, Electronic (Tangerine Dream, Oldfield etc), rock, some pop and folk music. Genre boundaries don't really phase me - I like what I like. Top 40 singles rarely appeal to me, although some interesting artists do surface occasionally.

I know nothing of the technical side of music.

Thank you to those who've already welcomed me; you all seem like interesting and knowledgeable folk and I'm looking forward to reading more posts in these forums.

Cheers,
Rider In the Blue (aka kevs). :-)

Welcome, Rider-in-the-Blue. Which MO albums don't you own?

Hi Nightspore, I don't have Incantations, The Orchestral Tubular Bells, Amorok, Heaven's Open, Voyager, Millennium Bell, Guitars, T.B. 2003, Light + Shade and Music of the Spheres.  So there's plenty more for me to discover. :-)

Howdy - Rider in the Blue. Your name has got a cowboy feel about it. This could be your theme tune?
