This is an amazing clip from JMJ's current world tour, its a simple but rather beautiful bit of improvisation. My hat goes off to JM for doing it.

Well, the improviser here is not as much JMJ as the guy with the Hang - Norbert Pavel. JMJ very rarely does improvisations, everything he plays is almost always meticulously written and rehearsed. However, the clip is very good.

By the way, where is Variation 1 from? Is it part of his new re-recorded version of Oxygène ?

I know, that's what makes it so good. Actually here's another clip of Jarre improvising though for altogether more embarrassing reasons.

He deals with it quite professionally though.

Variations 1, 2, 3 etc were bits he added to the live version of Oxygene, the whole album performance.
