Ethain Group: Members Posts: 21 Joined: July 2006 Posted: Mar. 24 2007, 06:58 I need to find more information about the first Quad TB remix, the one done before the second one by Newell for Boxed. All I know about it it's that the sound is poor. Well, that's not much information, I need more. Someone told me Alan Parsons was involved in that first Quad TB LP, I've checked it and it's true, but it's also true that it's never said that he helped in the first quad remix instead of the second, but I know the second was a Phil Newell thing so it's quite possible. None of my 4 Mike Oldfield books has information about this, Internet keeps it deep in dark unknown places -at least unknown for me-, fans at mailing lists don't know anything about this. I need more information, and a musical comparison between standard TB LP and this first quad remix. Any help will be very welcomed. This information is very needed because I'm collaborating in a Mike Oldfield Vinyl History book. You haver more info in http://www.argiers.com/. Back to top

Resolution Interview Look near the bottom of the page. A long time ago he once said that due to boredom they flew control line model aircraft in the studio. This is the noise that is heard at the end of the early Quad TB disc. Back to top

Spinne Group: Members Posts: 397 Joined: May 2003 Posted: Mar. 24 2007, 21:22 No, Alan Parsons didn't work in the first pseudo-quad version of TB (the one which ends with the sound of the model plane) nor in the Boxed mix. He remixed a couple of extracts of TB (part 1) with Tom Newman for Quadraphile, which included samples from different quad systems at the time.
