I agree I think that's the intro to the build up of the Ommadawn Chant, and the lead up to the guitar climax, which REALLY kicks in at 16:17, and shifts up into overdrive at 17:28, and when you think it just can't possibly get any higher Mike's guitar solo reaches it's climactic peak at 18.25 , and suddenly halts, to allow the African drums to sustain the Ommadawn heartbeat. A beautifully crafted piece of music .

I did read that Mike intended Ommadawn as a form of catharsis, for himself , and what Mike felt he couldn't express vocally , he articulated so well with his guitar , so beautifully moving.
One thing I can't work out about Ommadawn Part1 is how it can occasionally make me cry, not that I find it makes me feel sad, at all , if anything it elevates my sense of happiness. Maybe it's the intensity of the emotions contained within Ommadawn that brings my emotions to the fore.
-------------- I'm going slightly mad, It finally happened, I'm slightly mad , just very slightly mad
If you feel a little glum to Hergest Ridge you should come.
