Yes, the translation sure does fan the heart more highly!
If you like good translations, check this out. It is the beginning of the "Song of Hiawatha" from the Japanese pressing translation (the "Weight Goods Marijuana" version), passed through French to German and back to English:
I like scandals on the wooded region, Who was changed to determine Through that I may not polish Half of door of the water of dixie Supported the beginning morning of the summer I want far away, and waited The whole air with freshness, am! Filled the whole earth, bright and merrily And before it by the sun, I Toward the neighbouring forest....
Whatever the "water of Dixie" is, it is either something you drink from a Dixie cup.... or it is another name for moonshine (the cause of many a scandal of the wooded regions of old Dixie).
-------------- "In the land of the Dacotahs, Where the Falls of Minnehaha Flash and gleam among the oak-trees, Laugh and leap into the valley." - Song of Hiawatha
