This topic doesn't seem to have really caused much discusiion so far so I'll give it a bit of a kick start....

Ennio Morricone, for those of you who don't know, composes soundtracks for films. His most notable are the ones he has scored in collaboration with directors Sergio Leone and Roland Joffe : "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", "Once Upon A Time In The West", "A Fistful Of Dollars", "The Mission", "City Of Joy" and "Once Upon A Time In America"

Other memorable scores include "Wolf", "The Untouchables", "Mission To Mars", "Lolita", "Disclosure" and "Exorcist II: The Heretic".

To date he has scored the music for 200 films and shows no signs of stopping.

I heard only the soundtrack for the film La Piovra (The Octopus), it was a film about the Maffia. It was really fitting to the atmosphere. Unfortunately I didn't hear any other scores by him but I'll check it out in the future.
