Let us know when you get it. I'm curious if the Amazon.co.uk entry is really accurate. Is it really "Region 0"? Does it really include Space Movie?

God I hope it does - I'm longing to hear those Space Movie-only versions of Incantations tunes.

"The Wind Chimes" was a video album released years ago. I know it was produced for Japan. I have no idea about other places (please see the FAQ. I hope it is there!;).  If I am correct, it contains music videos for all of "Islands" (Wind Chimes...ALL of it!, and the vocal tracks too), and some extras like "Shine", "Pictures In The Dark", and "Five Miles Out".

If you have not seen these "Island" videos, generally they include lots of (now) primitive computer graphics and occasional shots of Mike playing guitar, Anita singing, etc. Some are better than others: the tumbling digital wine bottles in "Flying Start" underwhelm me, while I think that everything blends together quite well in "Magic Touch", the best of the "Islands" videos.

The video for "The Time has Come" features a digital castle that looks a LOT like one of those buildings you find in rooms in the "Maestro" game.  I'm referring to those little "model" castles, etc that you can slowly zoom into and then get transferred elsewhere.

My first guess is that the "Wind Chimes" on this new DVD would include all of this material. Maybe that is too much to fit.

I know what you mean. I think we are in the middle of a major change in his work, like the one between "Incantations" and "Platinum" that was quite major.

I have pictures in the dark and shines videos. But its so bad quality. Sooo bad...

I think its a recording from vhs. I found it on dc++ (bad me)

It would be great to have all the Wind Chimes videos on the DVD, but if they aren't - it isn't difficult to find copies of the videotapes on Ebay. I picked one up very cheaply recently.

I could have bought one of those videotapes, but last time I checked it would have cost around $30 just to convert it so I could see it.

We seem to have 2 or 3 threads covering this new DVD, hardly surprising since it's the only Mike related new product for some time.

Anyway, although the release date seems to be firming up (and just in time for my birthday too..)  and the track listing seems pretty set, i see a difference on the region code between different sites.

Hopefully this is just due to a lack of clarity from Virgin/EMI. Amazon (at £14.99 plus delivery)have it listed as region 0, but www.play.com (£15.99 including delivery) have it as region 2.

either way I hope to be playing it loud and long. Goodbye to all those e-mule files with rough quality, hello to a great nostalgia-fest.

When it first started, I guessed for some reason that eBay stood for "Everything but another Yahoo". I was wrong. Little did I know it was named after eastern Frisco Bay.

eBay is an online marketplace, similar to Amazon. They have a promotional animation.

My apologies! I thought you were joking with me because I'd made a mistake about the spelling of eBay (I'd written Ebay initially). Didn't realise it was a serious enquiry.... but you now have a sensible answer in the post above, thankfully.

Regular version or different version?  Let's hope it's the latter.....

i looked on cdon.com as i can see it seems like its gonna be "space movies".  ;)

thats meen more than only one part?

And about Wind chimes the title is; "Elements, the wind chimes." That also meens that this will include more than just one song.

Well, full Wind Chimes VHS video is listed with approx. 60 minutes, including a few bonus tracks (Moonlight Shadow, Shadow on the Wall, Five Miles Out...) that are already in the main track list, so so 42 min for the 'Islands' part of the Wind Chimes sounds OK.
Wonder if we will get a new (5.1?) remix of he old videos' sound tracks, like they apparently did for the new Genesis and Peter Gabriel video clip collection DVDs...
