tarquincat Group: Members Posts: 104 Joined: Aug. 2009 Posted: Sep. 26 2013, 06:14 Have listened to the DVD of FMO in Dolby, sounds great Listened to DTS 96/24 music sounds fantastic, but Any vocals sound distant, My Amp (Pioneer 821) automatically registers it as DTS, is there something I need to do to bring Vocals up ? Bell Boy Group: Members Posts: 108 Joined: June 2009 Posted: Sep. 26 2013, 11:06 The DTS is a surround mix, with the vocal usually in centre speaker. So you need 5 speaker system(+a SUB speaker). Then you need to make sure they all are equal distance to you Hope that helps. Back to top

Some DVD players  and amps, have a setting for dialogue, which is usually in centre speaker.Though this usually boosts it, nit make it quite. Which songs is this happening. Are we talking Lead vocals...i.e Family Man,etc.??? As some of the vocals in the FMO side one are really quite... for me some of the mixes sound wrong, and messy. But I suppose its how MO wanted it... Do you have any other DTS to check.....most films have DTS soundtrack.so you could check the dialogue. speaker. Back to top

scienceguy Group: Members Posts: 55 Joined: Aug. 2012 Posted: Oct. 02 2013, 01:24 There is nothing wrong with your equipment... that is how the recording had been mixed I am sorry to say... the vocals on the 5.1 version are 1/10 the volume they should be... terrible mixing job... I am seriously hoping they dont similarly screw up the 5.1 mix of Amarok Back to top

timson1 Group: Members Posts: 1 Joined: April 2014 Posted: Aug. 01 2014, 21:06 FMO is in my top 3 albums of all time. I totally agree with scienceguy, The mixing for the 5.1 is rubbish! You can tell that no time was taken with it as they missed the first few seconds off completely! Sounds like it was mixed at the bottom of a well. And why not Blu ray? My best copy( sound quality wise) is the Japanese vinyl pressing. The new vinyl from 2013 is not bad but the vinyl is not good, too noisy. Back to top
