According to the Elements booklet, Don Alfonso was released in March 1975...whether the german one was released at the same time, I don't know...and of course, the accuracy of the information in that book is legendary amongst fans...

What do you mean by legendary accuracy?
Is it positive or negative ?

There is a doubt in my mind.
It's write at the link Cartenkuss send us earlier:

---His second official single, "Don Alfonso", failed to chart in February 1975, though.---

I don't know about the Elements booklet, but Mr Laing was responsible for the notes about each album in the HDCD remaster series (which also cut out most of the original artwork and features from each album, including the Amarok story).

Mr Laing's prowess with the pen was so phenomenal, there's a page on the Amarok Mailing List site that tries to find each mistake in each remaster booklet.

In short: Mr Laing's accuracy is about five miles out.

Yes, I think the English version was released in February.
Rainer Münz has replied. He says the release date of the English version can also be found in the '10' book. (Anybody?)
Rainer says he doesn't know when DAG was released. But he *thinks* that it was released BEFORE October.

Staying up far too late looking at old threads but I had to reply to this wonderful piece of detective work by saying:

The German Don Alfonso was recorded in October 1975.
Les Penning told me that, when he and Mike rerecorded IDJ at The Manor, Edgar Froese was in another studio mixing one of Mike's tunes.
