Did a search on Mike Oldfield on http://www.audiofind.com/. There I found a song called "don Alfonso".

The singing on the track is out of tune. Is it mike who's singing? On what record?

There is also a german edition. Very Hularious... Is this mike singing?

Does anyone know anyting about this? I'm very curious to find out!

The singer on the english version is David Bedford, who you might know as arranger of the orchestral tubular bells/hergest ridge (and a lot of other works of Mike's involving orchestras and choirs)...If I remember rightly, he's the other voice on 'speak'...

I don't remember who does the german one, but I have a feeling it was someone connected with Tangerine Dream.

They were both just released as singles. Lol Coxhill, saxaphone player from 'The Whole World', Kevin Ayers' band who Mike played bass and guitar with and David Bedford played keyboards with, recorded a version of Don Alfonso for one of his solo albums (in fact, he recorded his version before Mike did).

The songs were recorded some time in the early - mid 70s...around 1975, I think, but I'm not sure.

Thankyou Korgscrew!

Great with some entusiasts around to answer these tricky questions.

I wonder why it's so out of tune though...

Think, Don Alfonso is a Spanish Toreador... smile

The song Don Alfonso is from the album,
The balm for the walking dead, or there is a second one I met a sweet senora in barcelona, and i think it is also a movie,
Don Juan.
