Hello one and all :)

I was talking to our architect today, who has a sizeable appreciation for Oldfield. He was telling me how he remembers seeing a video with a dance beat on Top Of The Pops 2 that was what he remembered as 'Women of Ireland'. I looked in the forums for a mention of something like this, but didn't find anything.

From the impression that I got from Mr. Architect, Mike himself was playing. That means if there are any TOTP2 records I might be able to trawl through them. In case I am unlucky (more than likely) does anybody know anything about this?

Thanks in advance  :D

Indeed, it exists. WEA093CD, various copyright dates, 1996-1997. On the cover: Mike Oldfield "Women of Ireland Interactive CD ROM Track includes the video."

The music contains "Woman of Ireland" Lurker Edit 3.57
"Woman of Ireland" Album Version 6.27
                           "Mike's Reel" 3.51

Produced by Mike Oldfield.
Traditional arrangements by Mike Oldfield.
Track 1 remixed by Henry Jackman & George Shilling.

The CD-ROM portion contains the music video, gallery, biography, and discography. I think that the video version is different form the "lurker edit"  though both are dancey. IIR the TB quote happens earlier in the video. Guess I need to do a comparison when I have a moment.

AAhh, excellent thank you. :D. Just to pick your brain further, do you know if Mike himself ever performed that track on TOTP2?

Sure thing, piltdownboy. To be honest, it was merely a point of interest as Mr. Architect mentioned it, but if he still remembers by that time I'm sure he's appreciate that. :D

What are you doing reading this?? There's studying to be done!!! :D
